Thomas C. Dante founded Dante Valve Company in 1960, with the goal of building the company into an independent master distributor of all makes and types of safety, relief and safety relief valves. Highlights in the company's history include:
- In 1965, Dante Valve was the first to offer a two-year warranty on both new and reconditioned valves. The two-year warranty has now become the industry standard.
- In 1975, Dante Valve moved to its current location, a facility with more than 30,000 square feet of warehousing and manufacturing space on over one acre of land.
- In 1983, the Dante family created Danco Valve Company, a manufacturer of naval mil-spec relief valves. Danco Valve was formed specifically to become a service oriented, specialty manufacturer with a large inventory of available stock. Prior to Danco Valve's inception, competitive manufacturers took over 30 days to quote standard inquiries and as much as one year to deliver their product. Danco Valve's inventory policy rocked the industry by making mil-spec valves available with a 24-hour delivery time.
- In 1999, Dante Valve was certified by the National Board of Pressure and Vessel Inspectors as an authorized valve repair facility under the "VR" Code Stamp program.
- In 2000, Dante Valve celebrated its 40th anniversary by becoming ASME and National Board certified to apply the "V" and "UV" code stamps as a loose assembler for Conbraco Industries.
Since the mid-nineties Pankl has been supplying the aerospace industry. Decisive factors for this step were the material used, quantities produced and a stronger outsourcing trend in the aerospace industry. This development was already able to be seen in the automotive industry some years before. Besides the big helicopter manufacturers like Agusta/Westland, Eurocopter and Sikorsky, engine manufacturers such as MTU Aero Engines are among Pankl's clientele.
Pankl Aerospace is supplying air-refueling-system manufacturers like Flight Refueling Tubes in the UK with refueling tubes, which are used for military aircrafts.
Pankl manufactures a wide range of turned and milled products for the aerospace industry. The company excels with its unique production skills such as the precise turning of rotor dynamic aircraft and engine components. Pankl is a reliable supplier for large components (e.g. main rotor shafts for helicopters) manufactured on modern CNC-equipment to assure that tight tolerances which are required for these components can be held.
Today, Pankl Racing Systems with its locations in the USA and Europe is the leading system supplier worldwide for supercritical and ultra light transmission systems in the aerospace segment.
